Yes! For smaller pieces, an in-person consultation isn't usually necessary, but you are always welcome to request one! For larger multi-session pieces I might recommend an in-person consultation to go over the details and expectations of the piece.
I tend to follow an hourly rate for pricing. Occasionally I will price by the piece, but this is usually in the case of a pre-drawn flash piece or something on the smaller side.
My hourly rate is currently $100/hr. This starts once the stencil goes on and ends when the final bandage is applied. That being said, I am very conscious of your dollar! If I feel that I have been going too slow, I have requested we take a break, or otherwise been distracted because I was yappin’ too much (lol), I will take that into account for the price. I am not looking to take advantage of anyone- I just want to make art that we are both proud of! Charging hourly is the only way I can keep prices relatively consistent for both of us.
I will always give you an estimated price range during the consultation process. I tend to over estimate slightly so there are never any surprises. However, if I ever underestimate a project, I will honor the previous estimate I gave :)
Please do not drink alcohol at least 24 hours before your appointment. Make sure to be hydrating the day before and eat a good meal the day of your appointment. If you are getting tattooed in a usually concealed area, be conscious about this when picking what clothes to wear! (I.e. don't show up in skinny jeans when you are getting a thigh tattoo if you don't wanna be pants-less the whole time, lol) If you have questions on what to wear for a specific piece don't hesitate to ask for some recommendations! My current studio also has a privacy screen available for use if extra privacy is needed.
Yes! One person is more than welcome to accompany you to your appointment. We do ask that you try to not bring more than one person, as space in the studio is limited (unless the other people are also getting tattooed, groups are welcome in that regard!) Please no kids if possible!
Yes! Bring whatever you want/need to be comfortable. Snacks and drinks are also provided at the studio for all clients!
Wear something comfortable that allows easy access to the area that is getting tattooed. I recommend wearing dark clothing or something that you don't necessarily care about getting ink on. I try my best to prevent this from happening, but it’s still a good idea to not wear white just in case, haha.
